We are undertaking some TLC in our kitchen between 1st – 5th February 2016 and will therefore be unable to serve food during these dates. Our bar will remain open from 11am-2pm and 5pm-11pm. Normal service will resume on Saturday 6th February!

Nominations are received from the general public a commend the talented individuals and businesses who are dedicated to constantly delivering high-quality dishes, produce and supplies to ensure impeccable service to their customers
The awards take place on Sunday 8th November at the The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel. We’ll keep you posted!
- Head Chef Opportunity for Newly Acquired Staffordshire Gastro Pub (10/8/2015)
We are now searching for an experienced and talented future Head Chef to run all aspects of the kitchen within our new acquisition which will trade as an unbranded country gastro pub.
This means you will have the best of both worlds – the support, benefits, incentives and opportunities of a larger company, with the autonomy, creativity and individuality of an independent.
We require a Head Chef who wants the opportunity to create their own seasonal menus, to produce top quality food using fresh and seasonal ingredients, putting together outstanding classic dishes, so creativity and a good eye for detail is essential.
The ideal candidate must:
- Have relevant experience in a similar, unbranded pub/restaurant and be comfortable working in a fast paced and demanding environment
- Be classically trained
- Be a natural communicator and inspirational to your team, encouraging and developing the very best of them
- Have extensive knowledge of seasonal food, alongside suitable experience working with fresh produce, menu design and cost, as well as ensuring high levels of health and safety compliance
- Experience of CaterCost and ResDiary is a preferred skill
- Level 3 Food Hygiene or above

During three extraordinary days there will be moments of high drama on the famous Aintree turf.
Grand Opening Day on Thursday 9th April promises to be the ultimate curtain raiser to The Crabbie’s Grand National 2015. This is followed by Ladies Day or Fabulous Friday, which will bring a touch of elegance.
Grand National Day sees the thrilling combination of human endeavour and equine fortitude as 600 million people watch live on television. 40 horses and jockeys will line up to race across the famous fences including Becher’s Brook, Canal Turn, Valentine’s and The Chair.
To celebrate this unique sporting weekend we will be serving a Crabbies Afternoon Tea throughout the duration of the 3-day festival.

- Sandon Races – North Staffs Point to Point (3/30/2015)
This year’s Sandon Races Point-to-Point will be held on Easter Saturday, 4th April at Sandon Estate. Gates open at 11am with the first race at 1pm. Entry is only £30 per car for 2 or more occupants or £15 for single occupancy.
The North Staffordshire Hunt Point to Point is a highlight of the areas social and sporting calendar with several thousand attending annually. The event on Easter Saturday is a superb day out for all the family. Dating from 1752 the sport operates under the regulation of the Point to Point Authority. Point to point racing is packed with thrills and spills as horses and riders tackle substantial fences at top speed over a challenging 3 mile course.
Some of the finest horses in the country have begun their careers point -to-pointing and there is always the possibility of seeing a Grand National winner of the future. Professional bookmakers will be on hand to take bets
The unique layout of the course at Sandon means that all racegoers have a superb view of the course from grassy banks, which form a natural ampitheatre. Entertainment, both on and off track, is tailored for all ages with trade stalls, refreshments and children’s funfair rides.

- Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards 2014 (11/19/2014)
If you have never visited before, then the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) has to be on your list of things to do in Staffordshire. Set in 150 acres of maturing woodland, it is the UK’s living centre of remembrance, where 50 000 trees flourish among over 200 dedicated memorials – a truly spiritually uplifting place.
On this occasion the NMA played host to the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards. Enjoy Staffordshire and Destination Staffordshire is a dynamic partnership of attractions, accommodation, eating establishments, tourism and arts businesses and local authorities who are all working together to attract more visitors to the county. The awards celebrated best in tourism businesses across the whole of Staffordshire
With this year being the 100th anniversary of WW1, the ceremony had a ration book theme, and we arrived to a drinks reception in one of three marquees adorned with props to commemorate both world wars during the centenary year.
The awards were independently judged and verified by Service Science, where entrants were reviewed and marked on their commitment to delivering excellent customer service, training and skills for employees, sustainability and environment, along with dedication to best practice, quality of service and product.
The Lewis Partnership were overjoyed to receive 5 awards on the day, including 3 Gold Awards, a Silver and a Highly Commended
